On Saturday, May 23rd, Rocklin hosted its first weekly farmer’s market at Quarry park, filled with vendors, live music, and more. As customers drifted through through the aisles, vendors, whether weekend market warriors or first-timers, experienced the brand new Rocklin Farmer’s market.
Teresa Morris, of The Last Pinch, which sells gourmet salts and sugars, experienced selling at a farmer’s market for the first time. When asked why she decided to come out to Rocklin’s farmer’s market, she stated, “I always loved cooking, and I was trying to think of something where I can bring flavor and joy to people’s homes, and this was the best way to do that.” She also said, “I am a local business out of Roseville, and I just really wanted to share what I make from my home to everyone else’s.”
Caught A Vibe, which sells handmade bags, pouches, and purses, started by Marisa Smith, also sold at the farmer’s market. However, this market wasn’t Smith’s first rodeo. Smith was asked on what drew her to Rocklin’s farmers market, to which she responded “I’ve been doing this like these people that set up this event, I’ve been doing other books with them for the past few years, so I just always come to the new ones and check it out.” Smith was also asked on why she started making and selling handmade bags, and she stated “I have always had a passion for making things and being creative and having colorful things to make people smile, so I just thought that making bags would be something cute and fun, and something you can’t find just every day at the store.”
Many vendors, both old and new, found a place at the Rocklin farmer’s market. Filled with food, music, and fun, the brand new market is an amazing place to find both connection and locally made products.
