Rocklin always aims for success, whether that is in the the classroom or on the field. In this case, it is on the softball diamond.

The softball team has been crushing through the competition this spring with an overall record of 20-3.

On Thursday, May 18, 2016 (1) Rocklin continued their success and rolled (16) Pitman with a shutout score of 10-0. Not only did the team dominate, but they also moved onto round two of the SJS Division II playoffs.

“We know what we are capable of, so we cannot let the seeding get to our heads,” said senior Ashley Adkins.

One of the team leaders, senior Carli Cutler, has looked at this playoff opportunity as a way to cap off the season.

“This will be the 4th playoff run that I have been apart of at Rocklin High School. Also the last time I will get to play with these girls so it would be really awesome to bring home the section title,” said Carli.

The team is predicted to win the title; however, often times the seeding does not go as planned. In this case, the softball team is doing everything they can to live up to their first place seeding.

“We just take it one game at a time, I know we have the potential to win so now it is just about making it happen,” adds Cutler.

On Friday, May 20, 2016 they will go head to head with (9) Elk Grove.

“We know we have better pitching than them. We just have to work together as a team to get the job done,” said Ashley.

Ashley also explained the key roles in their success throughout the 2015 season, “We all set goals at the beginning of the season and have been working towards accomplishing them thought the season.”

This softball team plans on accomplishing one goal — earning the section title.
