It’s safe to say that there aren’t many events in Rocklin. One of the few events that happens annually at the end of every summer is Hot Chili and Cool Cars.

During this day, people bring their old, renovated cars from the 1900’s and show them off. However, Hot Chili and Cool Cars has a lot more to offer than just cars. There are vendors that set up there to advertise their business with games, prizes, and flyers. Many businesses that have booths here have gained clients and customers because of it.

And, of course, there is the chili. Chili is served a little after the event begins and it’s completely free. The idea behind it is that businesses make chili and give people samples. You can go to as many stands as you want and, when you’re finished, you get to vote for who had the best chili.

There is a kid’s area, too, and there’s usually a band that plays. This year, the country band Flat Busted is going to play.

This year marks the 22nd year that this event has been held. Hot Chili and Cool Cars takes place on September 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Pacific Street.
