Fall Sports Wrap Up

Fall Sports Wrap Up

When the news came out that the SFL would be turned into the “super league” with the addition of Oak Ridge and Folsom, the Rocklin High community was skeptical about the 2014-2015 athletic season. However, the Fall sports season has set a high standard of what Rocklin should expect from the rest of their teams.

“There were some questions about how well our Athletic programs would fair in the league. . . but I can proudly tell you that our teams did very well,” Athletic Director Mr. Davis Stewart said.

The fact that we’re writing about the fall sports season in December shows just how successful they were. Every team made it into the postseason, and three teams, Girls Tennis, Girls Volleyball and Boys Water Polo, won league championships.

The addition of Oak Ridge, a powerhouse with a handful of state championships under their belt, into the SFL caused discomfort specifically among the volleyball, football and tennis teams. Ironically, volleyball ended up tying with both Oak Ridge and Granite Bay, for a league title, while tennis tied for first with Oak Ridge in league, and football blew out the Trojans 59-21.

As the fall season has come to an end, the teams’ success has set a precedent of what is to come in the future. Below are the teams final records and a recap of their postseason.
