On April 10th, 2026, Rocklin High School hosted their annual Sadies Rally in the large gym, getting the all clear from Rocklin PD after a phone threat had sent the school into a lockdown earlier in the day. Despite this threat, the Sadies rally was a success, with games and performances from stunt team and dance.
Because of the phone threat earlier in the day, the rally was almost cancelled, and the threat caused uneasiness within the students performing in the rally. Junior Gavin Blank stated, “I was very concerned, but Thompson did a really good job of working with all of us, telling us what our next steps were and everything. And he was honestly really helpful, and we didn’t have to stay.I honestly could have not performed today, but I just was like, You know what? Why not?”
Junior Skyler Hibel, a part of ASB’s spirit committee, described the emotions within ASB as they received news of the threat while setting up for the rally, “There definitely was fear. We even had some girls back out. But honestly, we know we’re safe on campus, and we knew, logically, nothing bad was gonna happen to us, and that we’re safe here.”
ASB Director John Thompson also described his actions going into this rally and even the steps he took during the lockdown with his students, stating, “I had conversations with all of them and made sure that they were emotionally okay and that they felt supported. Most of all, that was my first and primary concern. And there was some feelings, and I honored that we kind of had some good discussions and we talked, and then we went forward with those of us that felt like we were okay to do so”
Overall, the rally was a success, and was another win for the Class of 2026 seniors. Despite everything it took to get there and the challenges that had to be overcome, our ASB students powered through and delivered a great rally.
