On October 25th, 2025, Rocklin High School’s dance II and III programs took to the stage during Rocklin’s annual Creepy Concert with seven performances
divided between the programs. The performance kicks off the dance programs here, being the first performance in the 2025-26 season.
This performance took months of work, preparation, and attention to detail. Junior and dance II student Brooke Wells says, “[We started preparing] maybe a month after school started.” Dance teacher Mrs. Blankenship goes into more detail, explaining, We spent the last couple months preparing for this show. From the dance standpoint, we had seven routines in the show. Each group had six days to learn and perfect their routine before moving on to the next one.” The time it takes to put on just one of these shows is evident in the way the dancers perform.
This show marks the beginning of the dance program’s season for this year, with the dance IV show, dance I show, and advanced dance show to follow. Junior and dance III student Camille Schroeder states, “It just makes me so excited to see what I’m doing for the rest of the year. I cannot wait.” Mrs. Blankenship also describes her excitement for the rest of the year, explaining, “I’m so excited about this year. It’s already one of my favorite years. This is my 13th year, and what we
just did tonight was a show that had dance two and dance three. However, we have our dance four show in December, so I’m excited for them to have an opportunity to perform as well. And then we have the dance one showcase in March, and the advanced dance show in May.” The dance program is set up to have an amazing year following the creepy concert.
The creepy concert is just the starting point for the dance program this year, and their dedication and commitment points to an amazing rest of the year. These seven performances are just the tip of the iceberg, and dance has a lot more up their sleeves this year.
