RHS’ Annual Creepy Concert was held in the large gym from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Two concert programs, each lasting about an hour, of the same schedule took place, with a 45 minute break between each. Various music and dance-based VAPA classes performed.
The second performance of 17 was done by concert band, where they played “Rats and Bats and Spiders.” Joshua Lafever, a junior, played bass drums for the class’s only part in the program. “I was really happy to play, because it’s one of the only songs I actually had a lot of fun playing in band,” said Lafever. Thought initially worried during practice, Lafever thought, “They did a lot better during the performance.”
“Dragonborn” was performed by men’s chorale, the 7th performance in the setlist. Jayden Robeck, a senior, wanted to give the best show possible for spectators during his performance . “Making people smile is one of the things I like doing most,” said Robeck. The choir manager for men’s chorale this year, he felt, “really proud of men’s [chorale] … they’re doing really well.”
Performances 4 and 8 were done by dance 2, with the songs being “When the Party’s Over” and “Denial is a River” respectively. Ethan Spears, a junior, practiced extensively with his class to prepare for the concert. “I gave it my all, and honestly, that’s what I’ proud of,” said Spears. Both performances stuck out to him for having high energy. “I think I’ll remember remember being in the front center, just having my moment.”
