4 Heroes Grill:
Rocklin is full of local family-owned businesses, especially restaurants. It’s always fun to experience something new, so I decided to try out the Mediterranean cuisine of 4 Heroes Grill located on Rocklin Road. The menu had a variety of mainly Greek dishes along with desserts and smoothies. But, we ended up deciding on the Spartan Pizza which consisted of a special sauce, chicken, tomatoes, bell peppers, and jalapenos. The abundance of toppings was a little scary at first, but it turned out to be amazing. I’m not the biggest tomato fan, so I preferred to take them off, but it was surprisingly good either way. The chicken was not overpowering and the jalapenos added a perfect sense of spice, but the star of the show was the bread and crust. It was doughy and soft, and the sauce complimented it perfectly. The price was slightly high, about $15 for a 12-inch pizza. It took around 10 minutes to come out but was well worth the wait. The building and tables were clean, and it had a neatly decorated interior with many pictures and a very cool digital fan that displayed videos. The staff are almost all family members, and they were very welcoming and nice. It’s unfortunate that this restaurant is in a competitive area as it’s surrounded by many other restaurants and a Starbucks. Personally, I liked this restaurant so much I convinced my mother to get it again the following day. If you’re ever around the area and find yourself hungry, try something new with the outstanding 4 Heroes Grill. I can almost guarantee you will not be disappointed!
Fred’s Burger:
There are many good fast-food restaurants all around the world, but I wanted to go around Rocklin and see if I could find a really good food spot that isn’t too pricey and is tasty. I decided to stop by Fred’s Burger to give it a taste. As soon as I stepped in, I caught a nice whiff of barbeque throughout the restaurant. A burger combo meal — which comes with a burger, fries, and a refillable drink — will run you about 12 bucks, but for what you’re getting, I’d say it’s worth it. Their famous burgers come with a very tasty signature sauce that is actually addicting. Their service was pretty good; we got our food in about five minutes, so we were not left waiting. The presentation of the food was pretty up to standard as to what you might expect from a burger place, but what really matters is the taste. Personally, I would have to give the burger and fries a 9.1/10 as the bun was really good and the burgers were really thick and juicy. But I would also have to say they did not have much business going on a Saturday during the middle of the day. Some of the problems with this burger store had to be seating. I noticed many of the booths had tables that would rock back and forth and felt very unstable. Another thing is the menu variety of the restaurant. It was pretty bland and what you expect from a burger joint. Still, the flavor of all of their food makes up for it. All in all, I had a great experience with their service and taste, and I’m excited to go back again.
