Music is a one way to escape the world without really leaving, and that’s why it has always been such a special love of Kara Bowden’s. To start off, her favorite band is Maroon 5, a pop rock band from Los Angeles, California.

Kara explained that she liked their music because it was more soft tuned and different than other music, meaning their songs have a different sound to them than others.

“I’ve seen Maroon 5 in concert twice, and since I like their music so much it was really fun to see so many other people that love them too,” Kara said.

She’s seen Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, two Eric Church, and a Paul Simon concert. Kara said she likes concerts because it involves seeing and meeting people with the same music interests plus you’re seeing artists play live in front of you.

“I love concerts because of the energy and freedom you feel while the music plays. It’s like you’re floating,” Kara said.

Her favorite concert so far has been a Paul Simon one back in the summer of 2017. Kara likes his music because it has an older feel, and it’s the kind she grew up listening to.

“I like Paul Simon’s music a lot because it’s comforting since I listened to it when I was little,” Kara said.

During that concert, Steve Kerr walked in late which caused the crowd to shout and cheer. As he was walking, he actually waved to Kara in the crowd.

Kara’s interest in music all comes together in one sentence:

“The reason music means so much to me is because there’s so many different types of it so everyone has a specific taste, and when you find your taste, it’s just really beautiful to hear what you like because it feels like you’re a part of it and not just listening to it.”
