The new movie that told the story of how P.T. Barnum perfected the circus act, made its debut on December 8th of 2017 and fans are raging about the soundtrack. The

album, released by Atlantic, is No. 1 on the Billboard album chart for a second week.  It’s the first time a soundtrack has been No. 1 for two weeks in a year and a half, since “Suicide Squad” in August of 2016. It also flew up the charts and earned its No. 1 album spot on Spotify with 5,715,236 monthly listeners. According to the NY Times, it had 104,000 sales in the United States.

“I literally listen to the soundtrack all day,” said Haley Bradbury, junior.

The soundtrack includes the voices of Zac Efron, Zendaya, Michelle Williams, and the star, Hugh Jackman. They all come together to celebrate what makes them different in the song, “This Is Me.” Since then, it has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Song and has made a serious impact on people struggling to accept themselves.

“I thought ‘The Greatest Showman’ soundtrack was really inspirational and motivating because I feel like all of the songs were uplifting and powerful. I listen to the soundtrack whenever I feel discouraged or stressed,” said Kristina Salvatierra, junior.

Overall, “The Greatest Showman” was a phenomenal movie, and the soundtrack was able to influence millions around the globe to be themselves and never give up. Thank you, P.T. Barnum, for inspiring us all.
