On April 8, the RHS varsity tennis team played their last home game of the season. This year, the tennis team celebrated six seniors for their Senior Night event.
Senior Alex Lin reflected upon his tennis experience since joining the team during his freshman year. “It was uncomfortable at first, but the upperclassmen made it a welcoming space,” he said.
From freshman to senior, tennis “became easier and easier,” and now he is the welcoming upperclassman to new players on the team.
After high school, senior Trevon Upshaw “might join a tennis club.” If he plays tennis during college, he plans to play club tennis or intramural tennis.
Senior Rishabh Bhutani’s favorite memory from this season was a fun practice. “It was a Friday, and everyone was lighthearted that day,” he said.
Lin is glad to move on past high school tennis, but he is “sad that [he] cannot stay with the new players.”
“I liked making friends on the tennis team. We came to games and hung out. It was a blast,” Upshaw said.
