On October 4th, your Rocklin High School Thunder won the Quarry Bowl against the Whitney Wildcats 42-0. With this victory, it extends Rocklin’s Quarry Bowl win streak to 9 years in a row, improving their record to an exceptional 5-1. Rocklin’s defense shined as they shut out Whitney, holding them to zero points all game. An all around strong and impressive performance from the team tonight. With big games from seniors Derek Keeley and Rafi Merino who both scored. Former Whitney student and football player, Keane Frank, who received “traitor” chants from Whitney had this to say on what it’s like to play his old team, “I mean, it feels a little nerve wracking, but also, like, I know I put in the time and the effort on and off the field. It’s just like, I got to go out there and prove it, you know.” It was Frank’s first game with the Thunder, and he tagged along a touchdown to help add to Rocklin’s total. Overall, Rocklin put together a great game and won big in the annual rivalry match up.
Next week, Rocklin will travel to play Davis Sr. who sits at a record of 1-5. They look to repeat their performance and finish the last 4 games of the season strong. Rocklin is tied for 2nd in the league with a 2-1 record against league opponents. The Thunder have constructed an amazing season through the first six games, putting up over 40 points in all their wins. They head into next week with high expectations and much to look forward to for the rest of their season.
