On September 21st, the class of 2028 experienced their first float construction day for homecoming. Various freshmen volunteered to go to a student volunteers’ home to construct a float, taking inspiration from this years’ RHS homecoming theme, the Wizard of Oz.
Freshman Zoe Fisher said that construction days, “Show the willingness of Rocklin [students] to come to school events and work because we love our school.”
ASB was hard at work preparing for the construction days. “We’ve had to do sketches and prepare the float construction,” said Freshman Class Officer Audrey Shaver.
Both freshmen agree that FLOCO construction days are fun and not hard. “There’s nothing too difficult about the work. The only thing I would say that would be difficult is spelling. If you forget a letter, we have to redo it,” Fisher said. “I think we’re all here because we love Rocklin and we want to help out.”
For Shaver, “interacting with everybody has been a lot of fun, like meeting new people and talking to them.” She also said that construction days “does a good job of connecting the freshmen to the campus, [and] getting them involved in activities.”
