Baseball Starting
Baseball season has kicked off starting on February 4
It’s that time of year again where we cue up the song, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” As winter sports comes to an end, spring sports are in full swing.
Baseball is one of eight sports offered by Rocklin High in the spring. Among baseball, are sports like golf, swim, stunt, boys volleyball, tennis, track and others.
Baseball started at the beginning of last week and goes all the way to May. Even though it started up last week, pitcher and catcher training began around three weeks ago to prepare pitchers for the season.
Baseball season has players excited to get out on the dimond and play ball.
“I like when baseball starts because I get to be around my friends and I also get to have fun playing,” says sophomore Tanner Carruth.
Preseason scrimmages start soon with tournaments for all three levels (Varsity, JV, Frosh) this weekend. The regular season starts on April 1 after multiple preseason games against other teams around the area.
Overall, players are excited for the season starting. Since winter sports ended, baseball is starting up and games will be coming soon.
