Holidays in Rocklin
Students take advantage of the festive events in the area
The holiday season is the most wonderful time of year for many and the students of Rocklin High make the most of it by enjoying all the city of Rocklin offers during December.
On campus ASB brings the holiday spirit to students by coming up with seasonal activities. Bring your own mug day allows students to enjoy a piping hot cup of cocoa in the mornings, and encourages the campus to all wear ugly sweaters to add to the fun. The school also gets to enjoy seeing the school transform into a winter wonderland with decorated doors, spiritive posters and painted windows.
“I think wintertime at Rocklin is awesome! It’s really cool how we actually do stuff at school like the decorations. A lot of classes do fun stuff in class too, it’s really fun,” said sophomore Harmoni Duckett
Even though there is no snow nearby, students get the same winter feeling by going down to Ice Skate. With both an outdoor and indoor rink in Roseville just ten minutes away, it is easy to enjoy the icy cold even when the sun is out.
Also in town for everyone to enjoy are the outstanding Christmas lights. Bayside church sets up a free drive through light display during the holidays than anyone can participate in. Similarly off of Sunset Boulevard the “Christmas Street” is full of houses with over the top decorations where people can drive by or walk through to enjoy.
Even though Rocklin is not a major city there is no shortage of holiday fun to be had. There are countless activities students at Rocklin High are enjoying throughout all of December that make this area an exciting place to be.
