Killing it in League

Girls Varsity Volleyball dominates this year with an SFL championship

Last Thursday the Varsity Girls Volleyball team won an outright SFL league title when they beat the Whitney Wildcats.

Throughout the whole league season, the girls only lost twice.

After beating Oakridge, the girls secured at least a co championship with Whitney, having won one more game than they had. The Thursday game determined whether that title had to be shared, or whether it could all be given to them.

Whitney was destroyed in three sets.

The girls are now moving on to the postseason section playoffs with a two seed in the division one bracket, only following St. Francis.

They beat St. Francis in the fifth set during preseason, so there is very much a chance we could get a section title this season.

“I think the team is in the spot we deserve as 2nd in division 1. We’ve worked hard for this all season and preseason. It’ll be exciting to see how we do in sections and NorCals.” said senior Emily Jagerhorn

On Tuesday, the team played Lincoln of Stockton. They won in three sets.

On top of a great season for the team, head coach David Muscarella celebrated his 500th win at rocklin high school and his 20th season coaching Rocklin.

On Thursday (today) the girls will play Oakridge at home. Regardless of whether they win or not, it’s undoubtedly been an outstanding season for volleyball.
