Girls Tennis

League Record: 6-0

Last week: On Tuesday 9/29, they defeated Woodcreek 7-2 in their league play. On Thursday 10/1, they beat Nevada Union 9-0.

This week: Tennis plays @ Granite on Tuesday 10/6. On Thursday 10/8, they play @ Nevada Union.

Fun Fact of the week: On Friday night 10/2 the team got together at the tennis courts and set up a movie screen and watched movies together for the night.

 

Cross Country

Last Week: Saturday 10/3 Rocklin freshman boys got 1st place at the Del Oro meet, varsity got 3rd place overall.

Last Week: Relay for Life event on Saturday 10/3.

This Week: No home game; preparation for Homecoming next week

They said it: “It was my first time going to this event [Relay for Life] and I thought it was really fun. It was definitely a new experience for me getting to walk with a bunch of people on the team whom I have never talked to before. All the activities were really creative and that made it a lot more fun. This was also for sure team bonding experience. After the event, we had a little team sleepover afterwards and did a lot of team bonding there too.” – Alyssa Moss

 

Varsity Boys Soccer

Overall Record: 7-4-1

Last Week: They beat Woodcreek 2-1 on Wednesday 9/30. They also won their game on Friday 10/2 against Folsom with a score of 2-1.

This Week: They play @ Granite Bay on Wednesday 10/7.

Bright Spots: Josh Thibeault scored the game winning free kick against Woodcreek on 9/30. On Friday 10/2, Rocklin was down 1-0 against Folsom at halftime and came back to win 2-1 with goals from Arjan Chahal and Cody Lane.

 

Freshman Girls Volleyball

Bright Spots: Jake Nigh intercepted the ball, which pushed the team to a victory against Oak Ridge during their homecoming game.

They said it: “We could have done better on defense. We should have been up 28-0 and we also need to focus on our roles better.” – Richard Purvis

 

Varsity Football

League Record: 0-1

Overall Record: 3-2

Last Week: The Thunder took on the Oak Ridge Trojans and left El Dorado Hills with a heartbreaking loss of 22-38. This was Rocklin’s second loss of the season.

This Week: Rocklin will be taking on one of their biggest rivals, the Del Oro Golden Eagles. This should be a close game, as the teams have similar records.

Bright Spots: Quarterback Will Floyd found Kier Gibson Adams for a touchdown at the end of the first half. Floyd to Overton for a touchdown with 9:01 remaining in the game. A successful two point conversion brought the score to 38-22.

They said it: “I feel embarrassed because of the way we played. We got killed basically in front of everyone and it was even worse because it was their homecoming.” – Sean Gruber

 

Girls Golf

League Record: 4-4

Overall Record: 4-4
