Closing Time Reflections

Picture this: You are sitting in your last rally of Rocklin High School, and Closing Time starts to play. You cannot help but to think of all of the past and how it brought you to this very moment. All of your hard work and dedication has finally paid off.

Although the seniors have completed a long academic journey, most of what they take away from high school has little to do with academics.

“I have learned to just enjoy every moment because it goes by so quickly. I have developed friendships that I know I will keep all throughout my life after high school. I have found out more about myself and who I am as a person and a student,” said senior Lindsay Erl.

With only a week left until graduation, the seniors are focusing on remembering the friendships and relationships that they will cherish forever and that help define who they are today.

“In high school I learned that there’s a lot of things that go on in school and life but your relationships and friendships with other people are the most important by far,” said Cameron Harrell.

Seniors have come to realization that they need to stay on top of their work throughout the year, and stray from distractions.

“Essential skills make or break you,” added Zach Diele.

The way you portray yourself or act also has a big impact on how your high school experience plays out.

“[I’ve learned from high school]…Probably not to wait until the last minute to do things.. Or that you’re never too cool for anything,” said Ryan Wojciechowski.

Overall seniors have finished the first steps of their life and will now begin their journey into adulthood. They will always remember and reflect on what they learned throughout school, especially high school, as they continue on their academic and independent lives in the real world.

Megan Sundberg summarized on her high school experience, that many seniors could relate to, “I have learned to get out of my comfort zone and try new experiences, and that you can never go back in time so to live every moment like it is your last. High school has shaped me into a person that is ready to endure college, both with extra curricular activities and with school work,” summarized Megan Sundberg on her high school experience.”
