Positive Vibes Gives Sheppard Appeal
I first heard “Geronimo” by Sheppard right when I arrived in Australia. We hopped on our coach and our delegation manager for the trip turned on the song and said that we would listen to it every single morning once we hop on the coach. It brings back so many positive memories that I will cherish forever.
Sheppard is an indie-pop band from Australia who is starting to gain fame here in America. Their first album was released here on March 10, 2015 where as it has been out in Australia and New Zealand since July 11, 2014.
“Geronimo” has a very positive vibe, just like most of their other songs. On YouTube, you can only listen to 4 of their songs, and only watch 3 official music videos, since the others are not available to watch in the US yet. Sheppard has released 5 songs so far on their first album.
This song has a nice message in it, that is portrayed through a cool image:
Well I’m just a boy,
With a broken toy,
All lost and coy,
At the curtains of the waterfall.
So it’s here I stand,
As a broken man,
But I’ve found my friend,
At the curtains of the waterfall.
The song portrays someone taking a leap of faith into something unknown. In this verse above, it talks about being down and hurt, but accepting all that you are. When that happens, he is able to find his friend that will take the leap of faith with him.
I think this is a good song to listen to because it has a good sound while conveying a positive message. I recommend this band to everyone because they honestly have great music out and to come.
