Kalin and Myles: Vulgar and Unnecessary
There are reasons why I don’t listen to some artists, and Kalin and Myles solidified my reasons why not to.
Their song “Trampoline” is gross and the music video is just plain bad. The lyrics to the song are vulgar and awful. For example,
“Drop that thang like it’s your birthday
Got a sweet tooth just for your cake
You got all these dudes so thirsty
Girl don’t be shy”
They could make lyrics so much better (and more appropriate) if they tried, but they end up with this instead.
The way the song is sexualizing the girl is sad, along with the way they sing about women. It is gross and degrading. They don’t need to sing about girls that way, yet they do and it is disgusting.
Also, the rapping is horrible. Please, if you are going to rap, do it well. I don’t care for rap, but I know the difference between people who can rap and people who can’t.
The music video is awful as well. The quality is less than moderate and I am pretty sure that they filmed it with a GoPro. This is supposed to be professional music, yet it looks like someone decided to film a house party and use it for the video. If you are going to make a professional music video, please use an actual camera. Splurge a little to at least improve the quality.
The music video’s message was no exception. It basically was a bunch of girls twerking and the guys singing about wanting to have sex with them.
So if you want a song that has some lyrics that don’t degrade women to little more than sex objects and a music video that doesn’t look like it was filmed with a GoPro in someone’s backyard, find a different artist.
