Girls’ Tennis Swings into Playoffs
RHS tennis looks to continue their seasonal success in playoffs.
With only the second league title since 2005, girls tennis has had one of the best seasons the school has seen and hopes to continue their success in playoffs.
Currently ranked third out of 21 teams in division one, only behind Oakridge and Davis, Thunder tennis certainly has a promising chance.
After winning their first playoff game over Enochs Eagles, Thunder tennis has an overall record of 17-3 losing only to Davis, Pleasant Grove and Oak Ridge.
After their most recent match yesterday at Rocklin High, the Thunder will face Turlock, hoping to win and possibly get another home playoff seed.
With it being only their second league championship, the team is ecstatic. Talia Panadero, a sophomore, says, “I’m so happy to be a part of such an amazing team, and feel super honored to win the second championship.”
The second round playoff game is approaching fast and the team is trying to stay composed and prepare for the game.
Coach Eckenburg said, “We have a really good team and I think if we work hard and focus, as we have been, we can go really far.”
With their next game on Monday, November 10th, the Thunder girls tennis is hoping to continue their winning record well into playoffs.
