Dutch Brothers Fundraiser – May 2nd
Dutch Bros in Rocklin is doing a fundraiser for the disease ALS by having some of their proceeds go towards research and services. ALS is a “progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord” according to the ALS Association. ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, but it also goes by Lou Gehrig’s Disease, it’s name coming from the baseball player who had it. This disease degenerates the muscles of people who have this disease so they usually end up in a wheelchair. This month is known as the ALS Awareness month. So if you feel thirsty, go pick up a drink there. Here is the information you need to know about the fundraiser:
When: Tomorrow, May 2nd
Where: Dutch Bros
Why: In honor of the company co-founder Dane Boersma who was diagnosed with ALS in 2005 and passed away in 2009.
