God’s Not Dead

Gods Not Dead

Imagine that you enroll in a class and the teacher tells you to write something that is totally against your beliefs. Then the teacher tells you that the statement is worth 30 percent of your final grade for the semester.

This is what the movie God’s Not Dead is about. Shane Harper plays Josh Weaton, a freshman in college. He enrolls in Professor Radisson’s class, against others warnings. The first day in Radisson’s class, Wheaton is told to write God is dead on a piece of paper and to turn it in. He refuses and Radisson tells him that he would have to prove God’s existence. Josh had to by presenting well-researched, intellectual arguments and evidence over the course of the semester, and engage Radisson in a head-to-head debate in front of the class during his last chance to prove God is alive. The class would then decide if God is alive or dead. If the class did not agree with him, he would fail the class and not get into law school like he hoped to do.

The movie also follows a few other people, Reverend Dave and his friend, Martin, Amy, Mina, and Ayisha,  telling their stories while tying everyone to what is happening to Wheaton and Radisson.

This movie was so amazing and moving. I would encourage everyone to see it, not just those who are religious. I can honestly say it is one of my favorite movies now. It shows you true life struggles, but how God can heal you and help you through them. To whoever reads this, go see it! It is worth the time and money.
