On March 18, the RHS varsity tennis team held a home game against Whitney High School. The players were split into six single matches and three double matches.
A few matches were close wins, with “so many close points” from matches like junior Dylan DeMuth’s single match.
He “played great” and gave his best effort, winning his match. “I won with a little bit of luck,” he said.
Sophomore Taryn Cavazos worked hard to win a set before he became tired. During his match, he knew “what [he] was supposed to do,” but his fatigue challenged him.
Junior Nolan Savage, who played in a doubles match, lost in a tiebreaker. He faced “a lot of pressure” while he played.
“I kept on making mistakes, but I finally won in a tiebreaker,” Cavazos said.
