Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Get ready for an adventure of three truants who escape for a crazy, Ferrari-driving, parade-singing, ballgame-attending madness that is “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.
In this classic 80’s movie, a crafty student by the name of Ferris Bueller decides to take a day off and bring his friends, Cameron Frye and Sloane Peterson, along for an eventful day in downtown Chicago.
However, on the other end of the story is his crazed principal, Mr. Rooney, who will go to drastic extents to catch Ferris in the act. Driving around in Chicago in a Ferrari, the kids do everything from being the centerpiece of a parade to conning their way into a fancy restaurant.
With three talented actors who fit their parts perfectly, the characters’ personalities flow together to make for hilarious scenes in the movie. Ferris Bueller, played by Matthew Broderick, is a crafty high school student who misses a multitude of school days and really pushes the limit.
Sloane Peterson, played by Mia Sara, is Ferris’ girlfriend and accompanies him as well as Cameron along the way. Finally, there’s Cameron Frye, played by Alan Ruck, who is reluctant to come along and eventually ends up enjoying himself at the end of the day.
I personally loved this movie because of the type of humor that it brings and the numerous number of quotes that I still remember and laugh at. Matthew Broderick plays his role with an attitude of carelessness and confidence that makes him a lovable protagonist, giving the viewers an amazing experience. His love for Sloane and his conflicts with Cameron both allude to the classic teenage life, giving the movie a familiar feel to the younger viewers of this movie, something that I particularly appreciated.
For those that enjoy an occasional joyride in the midst of everyday life, then be sure to catch “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.

Is it really weird that, on one hand, I want a movie but on the other hand, I don’t? When I read the books, my ioiaingtamn took over and I was completely submerged (a movie was already playing in my head) there’s too much detail for a movie, in my opinion and everyone’s perception of the characters is different. And we know how directors don’t like to stick to the books that much :L I don’t mind a movie for The Hunger Games or The Maze Runner but not particularly for this. But I *do* want a movie, because like always, I’d love to see a good book series brought to life. If there was, I would be looking forward to seeing Four/Tobia’s fear landscape and the Pit; Tris and Four’s scenes (obviously) and the Ferris wheel scene.
