On November 22nd, the Rocklin Thunder took on the Manteca Buffaloes, winning 30-7. The offense struggled in the first half, only putting up 7 in the first, and having to punt in most possessions. Luckily, the defense stayed strong throughout and was able to shut down Manteca’s offense, only allowing 7 total points. During the second half, player Alex Durham had a leaping interception to put momentum into the offense. “I’m reading the quarterback’s eyes. I see the ball come out. And I’m not gonna lie, I never knew I could jump that high.”
Durham recorded many tackles in this game, a pass deflection, and an interception. Other players like Maverick Collins had 3 total receiving touchdowns, and Chase Baker, who was starting to feel it during the second half as well. Baker had a multi-sack game while also recording a receiving touchdown. The team looks forward to their next game, the Section Championship, playing Grant Union High School. This is Rocklin’s chance to go back-to-back and is also their get-back game after losing to Grant last year during NorCals. Good luck, Thunder!
