Chances of Winning the Lottery

Things that are more likely to happen than winning the lottery

The lottery as many know is a more of a dream then a reality. People wish they had more money so they participate in a game for the chance of striking it rich. In real life, the chances of actually winning are slim to none. Here’s a look at some things that are more likely of happening than winning the lottery:

According to Lottery USA, “the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302.6 million.”

A Shark Attack: The odds of being attacked by a shark are only 1 in 11.5 million. However, the odds are even lower when people restrict themselves to pool, rivers, lake and other small bodies of water.

A Vending Machine Killing Someone: Although extremely unlikely, a vending machine killing someone is more likely to happen than a person striking it rich in the lottery with the odds at 1 in 1

Having Identical Quadruplets: The chances of having not just one but four people identical to your looks is more likely to happen than winning the lottery. In fact it’s about 20 times more likely to happen with the odds being at about 1 in 15 million.

Hit a Hole in One in Golf: One of the luckiest sports feats in all of ports still not enough to overcome the chances of winning the lotto. Very few people can actually say they’ve made a hole in one but fewer can say they’ve made millions from random numbers. The chances of hitting a hole in one are 1 in 12,500.

Become an Astronaut: The odds of ending up in space watching the billion of people on earth from thousands of miles away is more likely than getting money from picking 6 numbers. The odds of becoming an astronaut are about 1 in 12.1 million.

Overall, winning the lottery is about as difficult as it can get. At two dollars a ticket, and the odds being 1 in 302 million, it would cost about 604 million to even have chance at winning the lottery. Maybe people should just dream, because the odds of winning are basically impossible.
