Basketball Starts The Season Out Strong

Of all the fantastic sports at Rocklin High, boys basketball is among the most focused on. This current season, the boys started out strong and are going above and beyond previous years.

Varsity boys basketball started playing during November, and since, has been on the top of their game. With a near guarantee of going to playoffs, it is an exciting time for the team and the entire Rocklin Community.

“Our team has grown a lot this year. We have a very experienced team this year, most of us being seniors. We feel like we are the better team every time we play, and with our wonderful coaches we really are a great team. I look forward to continuing our winning season this year and to how far we can go,” said senior Jayden Siler.

In the first week of December, the Varsity team excelled in the Norcal Tip Off Tournament at Whitney and ended up making it to the finals. In the final at William Jesup, they took their only loss so far in a close game.

“I’ve watched a lot of games and I think this year is gonna be really great for basketball. I’ve never seen Varsity play so well and they killed it during the tournament,” said senior Alex Perkins

Fans are excited for the success of the team as well. Cheering on a successful team brings together not only the entire campus, but the whole Rocklin community.

“I love sitting with the storm and cheering on the boys, especially when we know the guys are going to win the game,” said senior Emma Hayes

Every incredible sport at Rocklin, from swim to tennis, is an important part of the high school experience, and seeing one of those teams excel brings excitement to the entire school. Varsity boys basketball is going to have what looks like an incredible season, and Rocklin High School cannot wait to see how they play.
