People want what is in style, and generally it’s more expensive than what isn’t in style. That’s basic supply and demand. When people want and will buy what’s trendy or is name brand, companies inflate prices to make a profit.

What really makes the clothes so outstanding? Most of the time, people pay for the name brand. Wearing Gucci down the streets will draw more attention than wearing everyday Nike. When a logo is placed on the clothing, companies can drive prices up because they know people will buy it.

How do companies create an identity so massive? People buy for the logo. A lot of times, companies were created many years ago. They produced high quality products that caught people’s attention. People notice and take note of what works or looks good. When a company is around for a long enough time and they make good products, people start buying more from them. When a larger demand of the product rises, the prices go up causing inflated prices.

Another reason Hypebeast companies charge so much money for their clothing is because they are endorsed by celebrities. Just about every celebrity has worn something created by Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Supreme, Balenciaga, and many more. When they wear the clothing out in public, it’s free publicity for the companies. People see their favorite celebrity dressed up, and they want to look just like them.

The price range on these companies websites is absurd. It’s difficult to find anything under $300, and when there is something that low, it’s usually just a plain t-shirt. Prices can easily soar up to $5,000 dollars.

Overall, the reason companies can charge so much money, is because people buy their clothing due to the high demand. They can get away with selling their clothes for so high, because they have no problem selling it off to people. Whether it be for the name, they make profit. There’s a reason why these companies stay in business for 70+ years.
