As Rocklin High students all know, the beloved Mrs. Cindy Cutts has retired this year. Introduced at the school’s first assembly, Ms. Amber Tillery is now the new queen of the College and Career Center. For their last year before college, seniors have mixed feelings about the abrupt change.

Senior Hayden Willis is anxious for college. Having already had the privilege to meet with Mrs. Cutts before she left, he just wants everything to be done. Hayden had met with Cutts to ask her what it would take to get into UCLA where he would like to attend next year. Even though he has been getting help with Cutts about college, he thinks Tillery will be a good addition to Rocklin High School. He has already talked to her so far this year and says she is knowledgeable and supportive.

Jade Cahill, also a senior, is not as prepared as Hayden is for college. She does believe that she will be prepared, despite not starting her college planning yet. Since nothing is certain yet, and she has never talked to Cutts about her future plans, the change for her is not an issue. She does believe, though, it could cause problems for others who have already invested their time in Cutts. But, she finds Tillery to be the perfect new Mrs. Cutts.

The change from Cutts to Tillery will definitely switch things around. But, all in all Tillery seems to be a perfect candidate to try and fill the former queen of the College and Career Center’s shoes.
