Hydroflask vs. Thermoflask

The battle between style and value

Although it seems that everyone at Rocklin High School carries a hydro flask filled with numerous quirky and cute stickers, is that really our best option? Other water bottles on the market are able to perform the same as or superior to the Hydro Flask™ with a lower price tag.

For example, Takeya 40 oz thermo flasks are sold in a twin pack for $30 at costco, while a 40 oz Hydro Flask costs $47, and that is only one water bottle. Hydro Flask founded in 2009 by Travis Rosbach and Cindy Morse, and Takeya established in 2008 with John Lown as their CEO both have similar origin stories. Each company claims core values of inspiring, energizing, celebrating, motivating, and spreading joy to everyone who drinks out of their water bottle.

In an experiment posted in a blog titled The Adventures of Rayna, she tested the ability of both water bottles to keep water warm and cold. While the results were similar, only after six hours did the hydro flask deem to be more successful.

To see what shoppers are most interested in overtime, google compares the amounts of times both Hydro Flask and Takeya were searched. You can see the results at https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&q=Hydroflask,Takeya

While the Hydro Flask is both trendy and popular, the results of the experiments prove that they are similar in effectiveness. And for the difference in price, the Takeya thermos flask is the best option for any smart shopper.
