As we roll into a brand new year, everyone is ready to witness what incredible events are in store for the world over the next 8 months. With a new president and plenty of new celebrity drama, this year will most definitely be interesting. Negativity aside, 2017 also means a whole new year of cinematic genius.

This coming March, Disney is releasing a live action version of the classic movie “Beauty and the Beast”. Famed actress Emma Watson will be the one to portray Belle in this well known story. According to Rotten Tomatoes more than 99 percent of people want to see this particular movie. It will be interesting to see how they bring the animated tale to life.

They are also putting out a third “Cars” movie in June of 2017. After watching the trailer one could infer that there is a lot in store for the third installment of the franchise. 92 percent of people say that they want to go see it when it hits theaters this summer.

This coming summer has a lot in store movie wise. On May 5, the second “Guardians of the Galaxy” will be coming out. This movie is definitely anticipated seeing as 100 percent of people say they are going to see it in theaters. Along with the movie, Disney has decided to completely renovate the Tower of Terror ride and theme it after the movies.

June 2 is when “Wonder Woman” is set to be released to the delight of DC fans. Hopefully this movie will break DC’s string of “ok” films. Finally, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is set for release on July 17 of this year. 99 percent of people are already committing to seeing it. In this particular rendition of the series Spider-Man is being portrayed by Tom Holland. 2017 is going to be the year of the superheros on the big screen.

And naturally the holidays have a few things in store this year. On Dec. 15, episode eight of the “Star Wars” saga will be released and fans will finally be able to see if their theories about what will happen next are correct. Unfortunately, the movie series won’t quite be the same without the famed actor Carrie Fisher. Dec. 22, a remake of the movie “Jumanji” will be in theaters. This will most likely be an enjoyable film for all ages, but nothing will top Robin William’s performance in the original.

2017 is the year of remakes for horror movies. Unfortunately, most horror movie remakes are awful, so hopefully this new year will bring good things for these remakes. A remake of Stephen King’s IT is set to come out in September. It said that “Stranger Things” actor Finn Wolfhard is said to be playing a part in this film. On this fateful October 2017 they are adding yet another Friday the 13th to the multiple films they have already made. This particular remake is not related to the original film that came out in the 1980’s, it is going to be a sequel of the 2009 reboot.
