Bombings in NY and NJ is Scary to All
With all of the recent terrorist attacks, this is just another one on the ever growing list.

Last week on September 17, the cities of New York and New Jersey were targets of terrorist related bombings.
Surveillance video showed the suspect with a duffel bag at the place where the bomb was placed, 40 minutes before the blast in New York. The suspect, Ahmad Khan Rahami, was captured on Monday after a shoot-out and manhunt. He was charged with a murder attempt on law enforcement and second degree unlawful possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The first bombing took place in New Jersey at a Marine Corps charity race. The bomb was hidden in a dumpster beside where the runners were running. There were two other unexploded bombs were found nearby. Luckily, there were no injuries.
On Saturday, another bomb was set off in the Chelsea neighborhood in New York, injuring 26. On Sunday, five bombs in a backpack that was in a trash can was found by outside a pub in Elizabeth, 16 miles from New York City.
In 2014, Rahami’s father was interviewed by the FBI after a violent, domestic dispute where he stabbed a relative. His father claimed that his son was a terrorist and said that he might be involved in a gang or engaged in criminal activities.
Rahami is suspected to be directly involved in both attacks. He was arrested after a bar owner saw him sleeping outside his bar and recognized him as the suspect of the attacks. However, when police came to arrest him, Rahami pulled out a handgun and opened fire, injuring two officers.
A shoot-out followed and Rahami was shot multiple times, then taken to the hospital afterwards. Police are still trying to figure out whether or not Rahami had help in these attacks and whether the attacks were linked.
Possibly one of the scariest things about this is that Rahami had previously pledged alligence to ISIS, although he is a US citizen. More and more US citizens have done the same and have even left the States to become a member of ISIS.
In a scary world, these attacks just keep getting scarier. However, we all must stay together through all of this and remember that we mustn’t terrorize our own people when terrorist groups abroad and at home are already doing it to us.
