The battle for the rock, also known as the Quarry Bowl will take place in Rocklin’s stadium on Friday night at 7:30pm. Many students look forward to this game as a highlight of the school year.

Many athletes look to this game as a time to prove which Rocklin school has the best football program. Many students view the winner of this game to have major bragging rights for their football program. Whatever the reason for attending, it will be one action packed game. This showdown gets the whole community of Rocklin excited to see what the outcome will be.

The anticipation for the game began early this week, when hundreds of students lined up to receive a ticket. With around 2,000 students on Rocklin’s campus alone, the game is expected to sell out.

Last year, Rocklin was upset by Whitney with a score of 28-20. This year, quarterback Mike Nolan and company plan to change that.

“Last year was just a mess, but this week we are having another great week of practice and getting ready for Friday night” Nolan explains.

Rocklin is going into this matchup with a 1-1 record and ranked #11 in the SJS section, while the Wildcats are 2-0 and ranked #7 in the SJS section. Last week the (11) Thunder took it to the (17) Napa Indians and won 28-16.

“Last week against Napa was tough, and so will this week. It should be a fun one to watch” Nolan says.

With all this anticipation building up, the community of Rocklin will be packed into the stadium full of pride for their team. Weather if that is bleeding blue and silver or roaring like a Wildcat, everyone should expect to have an eventful night planned this Friday.
