Coffee: the caffeine buzz that 83% of people drink on a daily basis.
With growing competition for the best drink in town, a lot of coffee shops have been popping up in the local area. One of the newest, The Human Bean, is located at 2401 Coppervale Drive in Rocklin, just off of Sunset Blvd.
The Human Bean opened their first drive-thru in Ashland, Oregon in 1998. They have slowly expanded through the west coast states over the past 17 years. With a total of 60 locations in eight states, the franchise is growing. However, only two locations are in California, one in Rocklin and the other in Red Bluff.
This new drive-thru kiosk brings in a new flavor to the Rocklin area and adds to the already competitive coffee market in the city.
With Dutch Bros just down the street, the coffee rivals begin to compete for the most business in Rocklin. However, Dutch Bros already has a name for themselves. This Rocklin location has been open for almost three years now, which has allowed them to accumulate a consistent customer pool.
“I love their coffee and the upbeat environment. Everyone is always nice and very welcoming,” junior Ashley Graves said about Dutch Bros.
However, there are many people that like to try new things, like The Human Bean. This new kiosk is a delicious treat for coffee drinkers in the area.
The Human Bean has more than just coffee. With a wide variety of cold drinks, smoothies and cream sodas, there is an option for everyone. Whether the temperature is hot or cold, The Human Bean has it all.
The Granita is a creamy frozen blended espresso that is sure to please. If one does not want a coffee drink, The Human Bean’s wide range of smoothies blending either fruit or tea are also a delicious option. The vanilla smoothie is the best health option at 167 calories for an 8oz serving.
The local kiosk has made a decent amount of local jobs available for teenagers. One of Rocklin High’s very own, senior Nicole Raymond, is employed there.
“This is my first job, and I absolutely love it! My co-workers are all very nice and we all get along pretty well. It is very high paced which is nice because it makes the shift go by faster,” Nicole said.
Despite its competition in Rocklin, The Human Bean allows for a fun way to enjoy a delicious drink.
