RHS Welcomes New Teachers

Rocklin High has added a few new faculty members starting the 2015-2016 school year.

The start of the 2015-2016 school year comes with nerves for new students. What they don’t realize, however, is that new teachers are just as nervous. With a total of five new teachers here on campus, Rocklin High is opening its arms to some new faces.

Mr. Jeremy Jefferys, a retired Army veteran, is the new broadcasting teacher. He has been teaching for 15 years all across the state of California. He taught digital media at Green Valley Middle School and Rodriguez High School, which are both located in the Fairfield area.

“The school spirit here is incredible! I can’t compare it to any school I’ve previously taught at,” Jefferys said.

Another new face at Rocklin is Mr. Ryan Shull, a part of the history department. He has been teaching for nine years now and loves it. He quit his job working in corporate taxes to pursue teaching.

“When I went to college I really started to love education and learning,” said Shull.

He moved from the Silicon Valley with his wife and three sons. Moving from the chilly San Jose area, he wasn’t quite used to 90 degree heat.

“When I first got here all of my friends on Facebook were complaining about the weather in San Jose being about 75 and I was over here sweating in the 95 degree heat.”

Shull said that his previous school is really similar to Rocklin High, but he has a few simple goals to complete during his first year here.

“I really just want to get involved outside the classroom and meet as many people as I can.”

With all the new people here at RHS it shows that Rocklin is open and accepting to change. In reality, change is always good.
