The Final Curtain Closes

So what is next for the Theater students of Rocklin High? Well, as a wrap-up for the entire year, the Rocklin High School Theater Awards are happening Wednesday, May 26th. This “performance” is a combinations of reminiscence for all the wonderful moments, ad-libs, and solemn goodbyes for the Seniors. For about an hour, there will be several types of comedy, awkwardness, and the entire aesthetic of the Rocklin High School Theater in one night.

Kelsey Rosenberg, a senior, describes the night as, “The Theater awards acts as a last get-together between Seniors and their subordinates in the place many people feel comfortable and safe. We recognize those who deserve awards, and those who work extremely hard. It’s a last leg that represents what the theater is all about: community.”

The formal theme is just an attire façade. There is no admission fee, and everyone is welcome, but it is not an actual performance. Sponsored by the Drama Club, this is a get-together to celebrate the year. Actual awards are presented and certificates to dignify those who stand out and to emphasize the real process that is put into the shows.
This night of remembrance is to commemorate those who have poured their blood, sweat, and tears into these shows. Blood for all the injuries on set, for there are many. The sweat represents the hard work and amount of manual labor that would not be expected. And finally tears, because this year is coming to an end, and the people loved are leaving too soon.
