For many, the traditional movie experience involves popcorn, sugary beverages, and candy, but the latest movie trend includes full dining while watching a movie at the theater.

While most people would think the dining service would interrupt the movie, the company promises that the in-theater dining will not disrupt the experience and has received great reviews.  Plus, it is very easy to order food; just press the call button at the seat and the server will take your order.

“I loved it.  They have super comfy seats and there was a lot of leg room,” Senior Sierra Garrido said.

Unlike most movie theaters, the Studio Movie Grill features screenings for special needs kids.  While most movie theaters are loud and dark, the SMG turns the lights up and lowers the volume.  The kids are also free to move around, talk, or even dance in the aisles while the movie is playing.  This allows special needs kids to have a great in-theater movie experience without the stress of the darkness and loudness.

Several ILS students from RHS have gone to the studio movie grill and have expressed that they enjoy the ability to move around.  They also liked how the lights are turned on because it is much easier to see what they are doing.

While the Studio Movie Grill has received many positive reviews, many people have expressed some cons.  Although the food is good many thought it was expensive and the lighting in the theater made it difficult to eat.

“Since it is so dark in the theater, it is hard to eat because you can’t really see what you are doing,” senior Katie Root said.

Besides some of the minor cons, everyone who has been to the Studio Movie Grill said they prefer it over the traditional theaters because of the service, food, and comfortable seating.
