Rocklin High’s comical yet classic musical Beauty and the Beast opens tomorrow night, February 10th, at 7:00 pm. The musical features two different casts: the Village Cast and the Castle Cast. As always, Rockin High’s Pit Orchestra will provide live music for every show.

The Village Cast performs on opening night, as well as Feburary 13th, 18th, and 21st for a matinee showing at 2:00 pm. The Castle Cast performs on February 11th, 12th, 19th, and on closing night, the 21st. Other than the matinee performance, every other show is scheduled at 7:00 pm.

Tickets cost $10.00 for those with ASB cards, and $12.00 for those without.

Senior Kylee Mebust has been cast for the role of Belle in the Castle Cast. She’s been involved in theater all four years and has participated in every theater production so far, a total of eleven.

“This is my first big lead. I am so excited because I have always wanted to be a disney princess!” Kylee explains. “I love my part because I feel like I can relate to [Belle] a lot.”

To add to the authenticity of the play, the VAPA department has for the first time decided to rent costumes, including those of Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts. The beautiful costumes, as well as the fantastic acting and singing, ensure that the musical is going to be a success.
