JV Cheer

Last Week: Both Del Campo and Rocklin went to the same training camp to learn their routines for the football game. Since they were learning them from the same instructors they almost had the exact same routine when they played each other Friday.

The Week Ahead: This Friday at the Quarry Bowl JV will perform with varsity for the first time this year and do sidelines for the first half of the varsity game.

Girls Tennis

Last week: The tennis team had a great end to their preseason matches. They won 5-4 to Bella Vista and 9-0 against Roseville. The tennis team went to SLO and Santa Barbara for tournaments, scrimmages and team bonding activities which included horseback riding and archery.

The Week Ahead: First league matches. 9.9 at Rocklin vs. Folsom,  9.11 at Granite Bay and 9.12 and 9.13 at Rocklin for a BOSS Tournament.

Before/After game rituals: Shake opponents hand of who they play(ed) to show sportsmanship and respect. Then they high five their teammates.

Freshman joins Varsity: Elisse White is the only Freshman on the Varsity team this year and ranked number 4 of 28.

 

Boys Soccer

Last Week: Varsity beat Yuba City in a scrimmage 4-1, big blue dominated the game. Jack McBride’s header goal was a game changer. JV controlled the field with their possessions and opportunities, but they couldn’t finish and lost 2-1.

The Week Ahead: This week the boys play Whitney on Monday and Lincoln on Tuesday. On Wednesday, JV plays Jesuit at Rocklin. On Friday, frosh play Rio Americano, and JV/ Varsity play Granite Bay.

Key Players: Varsity: Jack McBride(forward). JV: Arjan Chahill (center-midfield).

 

Boys Water Polo

Last Week: Granite Bay pulled out a victory in a scrimmage in double overtime. They hosted tournaments at Rocklin and at Sierra College; a total of 5 games.

This Week: Scrimmage against Whitney this Thursday.

Before/After Game Rituals/Traditions: They do a Hungarian chant to get them pumped up before the game its called Otachi. After the game out of respect they shake the other players hands.

 

Girls Water Polo

Last Week: 14-4 victory in a scrimmage against Whitney.

This Week: September 12-13 Sierra College Shoot Out Tournament

Before/After Game Rituals/Traditions: Shake the opposition’s hands out of good sportsmanship

 

Football: Quarry Bowl Week

Last Week: After a 38-14 win at Del Campo,the thunder have improved their record to 2-0.

This Week: Rocklin hosts the 5th annual quarry bowl against whitney. Whitney is coming off of two tough losses to Oak Ridge (44-19) and Enterprise (35-7) while the Thunder are looking to bring their winning momentum to the field.
