Softball heads to Playoffs

Grand+Slam+Season

Rocklin High is known for its prestigious athletic department and its long lasting legacy of success. Over 10 of our sports team made it to finals or had playoff games. Our spring sports teams are ending the Rocklin High School sports season strong with swim, girls soccer, baseball, tennis, track and field and softball having all made it into some type of playoff or finals.

Girls Varsity softball is going strong with a 11-4 in league and 18-6-1 overall. They are ranked 59th statewide and 185th nationwide. They placed 2nd in our competitive SFL league.

Their 2014 playoff experience kicks off  Tuesday with a qualifying game at home. If they win, they will be seeded into the tournament at the Sacramento Softball complex.

The softball team’s chances of winning sections this year seem extremely high. Sophomore Carli Cutler said, “We are really consistent and consistency wins games.”

Our varsity team last year finished in 3rd in Sac-Joaquin Division 1 playoffs.

Sam Moffat, an RHS senior, said, “We will go pretty far. We have a lot of talent and we have a lot of people we want to beat pretty bad, adding extra incentive” in regards to odds at playoffs.

Our softball like many teams on this campus has the potential to win big against even the toughest level of competition. They are hoping to become section champions like our 2013 girls volleyball and girls golf teams. This has been a prevalent year for girls athletics and hopefully such success can be replicated in years to come.
