Is Skipolini’s a Good Choice?

Is Skipolinis a Good Choice?

I went to Skipolini’s the other day with my family for the first time. I ordered the macaroni and cheese, my mom and brother both got pizza, and my dad got the Cajun pasta. We also got the Skip’s Dip and the calamari as starters. My family shares, so we all had a little bit of everyone’s.

First of all, the Skip’s Dip is AMAZING. It’s homemade bread that tastes heavenly with an olive oil and vinegar dip, but the dip had parmesan, making it even better. We actually took home the leftover bread in a pizza box because there was no way we were leaving it behind. I could have eaten the huge loaf by myself.

Our other starter was calamari, because it’s my brother’s favorite food. I like it, but I’m not a huge fan. The one at Skipolini’s was a little too chewy for my taste. It didn’t taste like the calamari you can get in Monterey, although it did come with amazing sauces.

Then we got our food. The macaroni and cheese was good, but I can’t rave about it just because it had brie in it. Brie has quite a strong flavor, and I don’t particularly love it, so that kind of ruined it for me. I was hoping for something like what they serve at Panera. On the other hand, the Cajun pasta was perfect. It is spicy, but I could eat it all day. The portions are huge, so I had the pasta and the leftover bread for lunch the next day.

The pizzas were good too, but I don’t think I would get the one’s my mom and brother got. My mom got the margherita pizza, and it didn’t really look very appetizing to me, but my mom claims that is tasted great. My brother just got plain cheese, which also didn’t look very appetizing, however, I did try his, and it was very tasty.

Looking at the menu online, there are so many more pastas that I want to try, but I don’t know if I could pass up the Cajun pasta, if I went back to Skipolini’s! Oh, and the Skip’s Dip.
