“Academic decathlon is made up of ten events, which cover history, math, science, language arts, music, art, interview, essay, speech, and economics,” says star decathlete, Kaitlyn Clark.

The Rocklin High School Academic Decathlon team recently placed third in the County Academic Decathlon after a long day of testing. The RHS team has one junior who dominates: Kaitlyn Clark. She won a gold medal in the science category, silver in speech as well as in the interview category, and a bronze in language arts and math for a total of 5 medals for Kaitlyn Clark.

Rocklin High School tends to emphasize athletic teams, more so than the academic teams. Hopefully Kaitlyn Clark will be able to carry on the RHS tradition of success with the team at next year’s competition.
