Siska Returns

English teacher Mrs. Sisca returns to teach at RHS after 11 years.

Siska+Returns

Just recently we lost history teacher Mrs. Montgomery to childcare, but this is not the first time this has happened at Rocklin High. Mrs. Jerica Siska was once an English teacher here at RHS but had to quit to take care of her two boys. Now she has returned to pick up where she left off.

Q&A with returning English teacher Mrs. Jerica Siska.

Q: Why did you leave RHS?

A: I had two boys and I was unable to stay part time back then so I resigned to take care of them.

Q: Where did you work when you were away?

A: I was the PTC president at my son’s’ elementary school and i also volunteered at the Springview Library for 2 years.

Q: How many years did you work here before you left?

A: I worked here for five years from 1997-2002.

Q: What changes do you notice about Rocklin since you have been here?

A:  The technology is all new to me.  I used to use the overhead projector and now I’m learning how to use the doc camera and the remote.  Also the matured trees makes the campus look a little different.

Q: What adjustments did you have to make in order to work here again?

A: I have had to make time to put together lesson plans and just reorganize myself as a teacher.

Q: What English classes do you teach?

A: I teach Language Arts 1 and 2. I teach during periods 1 and 3 on blue days and 6 and 8 on silver days.

Q: Do you plan on working full-time in the future?

A: If it becomes available, maybe.  But I really enjoy teaching part-time.

Q: Are you excited to be back at RHS?

A: Yes, I really enjoy all of my students, classes and my schedule.

Q: Did you keep in touch with other teachers after you left?

A: Yes, I kept in touch with several mostly through Facebook and it’s nice seeing a lot of familiar faces.
