Dance 1 Show: Joyous and Graceful

Stunning. Beautiful. Elegant.

These are all words that could easily describe the Dance I showcase that started on Friday. The dancers were from the different Dance I classes, and all of the dances were choreographed by Dance I student directors and alumni from RHS while being reviewed and edited by the Dance I teacher, Mrs. Blankenship.

The dances started off with the student directors dancing to a rather upbeat song, showing off their fantastic dance moves. For the seniors, this was their last time taking the Rocklin High stage.

They were followed up by Dance I students from period 7, who danced to another upbeat song. This dance was amazing and the dancers have obviously worked hard to achieve this level of near-perfection.

Some of the other dances involved themes, such as a 50s-themed dance. There was another student director dance with only two of the directors this time, as opposed to the beginning of the show with all of the directors.

Two personal favorites were the Dear Future Husband dance and the Lion King dance. The Dear Future Husband dance was performed by the entirety of period 7 and Lion King was performed by period 3 students. Dear Future Husband was to the popular song Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor and the dancers performed beautifully. The Lion King dance featured songs from the hit Disney movie The Lion King. These two were fantastic, although it was hard to pick out the two, as all of the dances were fantastic.

The show ended with a performance by all of the dancers, including the directors. This joyful dance was a fitting end to an excellent showcase, showing off just how amazing the programs here at RHS are.

The Dance I showcase, like all of the other dance showcases, showed off the skill of the people that attend this school and kept the audience interested.
