Girls Tennis

League Record: 3-0

Overall Record: 10-3

Last Week: The Rocklin girls tennis team won Tuesday’s 9/15 home conference match against Nevada Union 9-0.

This Week: The team plays at Oak Ridge on Tuesday 9/22 and at Del Oro on Thursday 9/24.

 

Girls Golf

League Record: 3-2

Overall Record: 3-2

Last Week: Last Wednesday 9/16, they played Woodcreek and lost 240-290. On Thursday 9/17 they played Folsom and won 205-190.

This Week: Girls have a tournament on Monday 9/21. Tuesday 9/22, they play Granite Bay at home. On Thursday 9/24, they play at Nevada Union.

 

JV Football

Overall Record: 3-1

Last Week: Lost to Sacramento High School 26-6.  

This Week: Bye week; no game Friday 9/25

Bright Spots: Preston Manley made multiple good defensive plays and Leonte Huerta-Moore scored an exciting touchdown. Despite the loss, the JV team showed great sportsmanship while on the field.

They said it: Defensive Lineman Max Diven said “I got punched in the neck.” He commented that Sac High had poor sportsmanship and wished they would have been more respectful.   

 

Varsity Football

League Record: 0-0

Overall Record: 3-1

Last Week: Rocklin beat Sacramento High 28-17.

This Week: Rocklin has a bye week, so they don’t play Friday. On Monday 9/21, the varsity team went out to support our varsity girls golf team against Granite Bay.

Bright Spots: Devin Dacosta had an interception against Sacramento in the third quarter with 50 seconds left. After a long drive, Evyn Holtz was able to make his way into the end zone on third and goal. Evan Michalet had a great game on Saturday with two interceptions and an 84 yard return for a touchdown.

They said it: Jack Cole after the win last saturday against the Dragons stated that, “Even in a bad area, it was nice to get a satisfying win against Sac. Also it was a great motivator to get our mojo back and a great win to put the team back on the winning track.”

 

Cheer

Last Week: Cheer learned a new routine, but they didn’t perform it at the football game on Saturday due to the fact that Sacramento High didn’t have a track. Half the team was on the field and some were in the stands. They performed the halftime routine, but not in front of the fans.

This Week: Cheer only has one day of practice because it is a bye week for football.

 

JV Boys Soccer

League Record: 0-0

Overall Record: 6­-0­-4

Previous Week: Beat Whitney 2-0 on Saturday 9/19

This Week: Tied Del Oro 1-1 on Monday 9/21. Play Oak Ridge on Wednesday 9/23.

Bright Spots: Justin Cuatch tied up the game against Del Oro with a great shot outside of the 18 yard box.  

They said it: “We played hard and possessed the ball well, but we didn’t finish our chances. Del Oro was fun to play though.” -Nick Mcclaughry

 

Frosh/JV Girls Volleyball

League Record: Freshman – 0-0; JV- 0-0

Overall Record: Freshman – 1-2; JV- 6-1

Last Week: Freshman girls started their weekend early while playing in the Stockton Classic tournament. JV girls beat Woodcreek 2-0.

This Week: All volleyball teams are playing Folsom this Tuesday 9/22 at Folsom. On Thursday 9/24, all teams are playing Granite Bay. This Saturday 9/26, JV is playing in the Stockton Classic tournament at Edison High School.

Highlights: Freshman girls got 2nd place out of 22 teams at the Stockton Classic tournament. The JV team crushed Woodcreek in their SFL openers.
