Prom isn’t for Everyone

Prom isnt for Everyone

Junior prom is the event of the year for most of the junior class. But how many juniors actually go to their own prom? There are a few people who would rather stay home, be with friends, or planned another event on the same day. There are conflicts that come with prom or the dance may just not be your forte.

One of the ASB committees planned a group activity on the same night. This committee going out to see Divergent.

There are others who have important events already planned and would rather miss prom than their activity. This might be visiting colleges, going out of town or just hanging out with family and friends.

Alexa Michael, a junior not going to prom, is spending prom night at the beach with her sister. Alexa said, “I would rather go to the beach than the dance. I’m a beach girl. But I will definitely go to Senior Ball.”

Other juniors are missing their own prom but are going to another schools. Technically they are not missing prom they will have their night of fun but just with people from another school.

There are some people out there that are just not dancers. Some would rather stay at home with a good book or Netflix, and ice cream. People may say the prom is an experience people should not miss, but if you know you would have more fun at home, with friends or out of town do not let prom get in the way.

Prom is not for everyone. There are some people that would rather do something else then go to the dance. They might find dances irrelevant or they already have other plans.
